A birthday card for Joe

This is my DT card for Cards for Men which I'm very late posting.  It's going to be a birthday card for my Nephew, Joe, who's 10 at the end of the month.  Hopefully he'll like it.

We have a fab challenge over at Cards for men this time.  The theme is 'Boys & Their Toys' and the sponsor is my good blogland friend, Claire, from Hope Jacare.  The prize is 3 digis of your choice.  If you haven't seen claire's work before, pop over now and have a look.

Also pop over to Cards for Men where you'll get all the details of the challenge and you'll get to see the wonderful cards made by all my teamies.

My card base is a 6" square from Craftwork Cards (so is the Red Card Candy).  The backing paper is DCWV - Boys will be Boys.  My image is Skate from Hope Jacare which I've coloured with promarkers.  The mounts are Cajun Craze from Stampin Up and that's it I think.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pixie Cottage - Sketch
Whimsy Inspiration - #21 Happy Birthday
Digistamps 4 Joy - #34 aquamarine/turquoise

Cards for Men (Recycled)

Happy New Year!  I'm pleased to be back with a new challenge card for Cards for Men.  The theme this time is 'Reycling'.  You'll find lots of ideas over on the main post and the prize on offer is £10 gift voucher from the wonderful, One Stop Card Crafts.

My card is a recylcled Christmas Card from 2010.  I cut out lots of nice bits last Christmas with the intention of making new Christmas Cards this year.  As it turned out, they never got made, but I'm determined to do better this year.  I rooted through my 'scraps' box to find the gold card for mounting.  The Ribbon/Craft strip were off our Christmas Cake.  The base is Stampin Up (Chocolate Chip) and the gold Candi were in my stash.  All in all I was very pleased with myself.  I liked the finish so much that I have a similar design set up ready for my son's birthday card.

Hope you like it too and I'd love to see your creations over at Cards for Men.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

    Cards for Men annual bloghop

Another year has whizzed by.  Cards for Men has now been running for two years and to celebrate we have a bloghop running as well as our usual challenge. The theme for our challenge is the number '2'.  Interpret it how you will, two cards, two images, pairs, twinsets (card & gift), etc. We'll draw a random winner and top 3 as usual. You can get all the details and lots more ideas from the Design Team over at the main site. Here's what I made:

Also, we are having an Anniversary Blog Hop. You can get the full list of blogs over at Cards for Men. If you arrived here from Shirley then you're on the right track.  If not, hop over to Cards for Men to start at the beginning.

At each stop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got a $10 gift voucher from Digi Doodle Shop to give away

Digi Doodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts.  It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps.  Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair.  Having these two complimenting styles have enabled
Digi Doodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.

To be in with a chance of winning this you just need to leave a comment at the end of this post. A random winner will be drawn on 19 December 2011.

Each stop will have a word which you should collect to make a festive phrase. My word is 'the'. At the end of the blog hop you should have 9 words, work out the phrase and leave it in the comments back at Cards for Men. The blog hop will run until midnight on 18 December 2010 and a winner will be chosen on 19 December 2011.

Your next stop is Sandra. If you lose your way you can go back to Cards for Men to get the full list. Good luck everyone.

Fancy Folds at Cards for Men

I can't believe how this year has flown by.  Cards for Men is at Challenge 24 which is our last proper challenge of the year.  In December we'll be having a bloghop to celebrate our 2nd anniversary so make sure you check in for that.

My card is a tri-fold card (I'll try and get an open photo later today).  I used 'Hoodie Jason' for my main image which is coloured with Promarkers. The brown background is a piece of Stampin Up cardstock which I've printed a background on.  My husband made the background using the 'Epic Birthday' image.  The other two designer papers are from Basic Grey - Wags and Whiskers.

You can find all the details of our sponsor over at the main post on Cards for Men, but I want to let you know that in addition to the prize, we also have a 10% discount code.  Simply use the code CFM10 at Whimsie Doodles and get 10% off your order.  This code is valid for 30 days from today so pop over and see what you like.

Pop over to Cards for Men to see what my teamies came up with.   You won't be disappointed, I'm sure.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

    Paperminutes - #191 Children's Birthday
    Bearly Mine - 2W, 2E, SIO - #23 One for the boys 2nd Week

Late entry for Cards for Men

I'm running behind this week and unfortunately, I'm late with my card for the current challenge over at Cards for Men.  Hopefully, you'll think it was worth the wait.  The sponsor for the current challenge is Digital Delights and we were lucky enough to get some images to work with.  I chose this one which is called 'Rodney Reindeer' and he is coloured with promarkers. Isn't he fab?  The cardstock is from Stampin Up and the rest is from my general stash.  Please pop over to the main post on Cards for Men for a look at my teammates ideas and to get all the details.
